In
collaboration with National Information Technology Agency, the African
Top Level Domains Organization (AfTLD), is organizing its 5th
African ccTLD Event in Accra, Ghana
from 18 - 22 April 2011. The event which
includes an Attack Contingency Response Planning (ACRP)
Workshop for ccTLDs managers in Africa, a ccTLD policy workshop for stakeholders and AfTLD Annual General meeting(AGM) will be generously hosted by the
National Information Technology Agency (NITA)
with the support of the Ministry of Communications, Network Computer Systems (current .gh sponsoring organization) and other local sponsors.
The
ACRP Workshop will be a three day workshop to improve the abilities of
African ccTLD organizations to maintain business continuity in the
event of a security attack to the registry. The workshop will be run by
Delta Risk, an American Cyber Security Company. AfTLD intends to contribute to the
process of developing and enhancing
management of Internet infrastructure and services in Africa through
this workshop.
The
Policy Workshop will be a day and half workshop to look
at state of African ccTLDs in the light of the Pailles Declaration made
in Mauritius in 2009. The workshop will look at current global
ccTLD issue including the impact of new generic Top level Domain
(gTLD) on ccTLDs in Africa.
AfTLD
will hold a half day Annual General Meeting to discuss membership ,
policy and other issues for the organization. All full, associate and
potential members of AfTLD are invited to attend the AGM
