AfTLD participated in the African Internet Governance Fourm "IFG" Preparatory meetings "The Road to Athens" held in Cairo from 18-22th September 2006.
The meeting discussed a number of issues and aspects related to Internet governance, technical, political, social and economic.

ICANN Posts Proposed Registry Agreement for Designation of the .ASIA Registry

18 July 2006, ICANN's Board of Directors approved the posting for public comment of the proposed registry agreement between ICANN and DotAsia Organisation Limited. If approved by the ICANN Board, the agreement (Appendices) would designate DotAsia as the registry operator for the newly designated .ASIA registry. ICANN ccNSO Council Meetings - Luxembourg

ICANN Country Code Supporting Organization "ccNSO" concludes it's Luxembourg meetings, ccNSO council passes resolution to initiate a Policy Development Process "PDP" which will could lead to some changes to ICANN bylaws ICANN Bylaws Article IX (Country-Code Names Supporting Organization), Annex B (ccNSO Policy-Development Process) and Annex C (the Scope of the ccNSO) related to ccNSO in-order to encourage  European  ccTLD registries and other to join ccNSO .
