ZADNA APPOINTS NEW CEO
JOHANNESBURG, 21 August 2020 – ZA DOMAIN NAME AUTHORITY (ZADNA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Molehe Wesi as its new Chief Executive Officer. Wesi is a reputable Information Communication Technology (ICT) expert; he brings to the position a wealth of experience and expertise. He joined the organization on 03 August 2020.
Wesi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of the Free State and is studying toward his Masters in Information Technology (M.IT) at the University of Pretoria. He is also a content contributor on Cyber-security and 4IR matters.
Prior to his appointment at ZADNA he held various roles including, Deputy Director of IT Strategic Support and Client Services at the University of Pretoria from April 2018. He also held a position of Director of IT Service Delivery at University of Johannesburg from December 2014 to March 2018, during this period, he was also appointed to serve as acting Executive Director of Information and Communication Systems from July 2017 to March 2018.
“We are confident that Mr. Wesi’s strong industry knowledge and management expertise will reinforce stability within the organization in order to fulfil ZADNA statutory mandate. His capabilities will enable the organization to enhance business sustainability, drive innovation, stimulate the .za domain name registration growth and ensure that ZADNA maintains an inclusive policy process,” says ZADNA board chairperson, Ms. Palesa Legoze.
Wesi says he is delighted to be appointed to lead the organization, “it is an honour to be given the opportunity to lead the organization and to ensure that the .za namespace is stable and resilient. I am looking forward to working closely with all stakeholders and to ensure that the management and administration of the namespace comply with international best practise and that .za remains the preferred domain name registered by South Africans “.
Mr. Wesi is taking over from Mr. Peter Madavhu, who has served as acting Chief Executive Officer from January 2019 to July 2020.

The .ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA) is a not-for-profit company established in terms of section 59 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (Act 25 of 2002). ZADNA’s mandate is to regulate the .za namespace and ensure its efficient use, management and administration.
